You'll Burn With Us: The Hunger Games: Mockinjay Part 1 Review

WARNING!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE PREVIOUS MOVIES IN THE HUNGER GAMES SERIES I RECOMMEND YOU DO SO. SPOILERS FROM THE PREVIOUS MOVIES ARE AHEAD.

After breaking out of the Quarter Quell Arena during the Hunger Games, Katniss, Finnick, and Beetee are taken to the “destroyed” District 13 to be treated of their wounds and trauma from the games. After arriving to District 13, Katniss learns that she isn’t all she used to be. She is slow mentally and physically.  Even though she is slow minded, she knows exactly what she wants: Peeta. Katniss makes it clear to Coin, the leader of District 13, and Plutarch, the mastermind behind her getting out of the games, that she wants to rescue Peeta, Johanna Mason, and Annie Cresta. After visiting the remains of her district, Katniss is ready to be the Mockingjay symbol needed to fight the Capitol. She is to be filmed in many propaganda videos that will be showcased in the other districts and maybe even the Capitol. After filming many promos of Katniss in action, an all-out war begins between the Capitol and District 13.

If you hated the cliffhanger ending of Catching Fire, then you might not like this one’s ending. This is an AMAZING movie that deserves 6 out of 5 stars. Even though Mockingjay Part 1 isn’t action filled like the other movies, it is still incredible. Mockingjay Part 1 also has a great soundtrack. Songs on this soundtrack were all handpicked/handwrote by Lorde, and the movies theme song “Yellow Flicker Beat” by Lorde is incredible and captures the essence of the movie. I recommend that you see Mockingjay Part 1 ASAP because this movie is “on fire.”
