It’s that time of year again. The time for snow days, hot
cocoa, and best of all, curling up under a blanket and watching holiday movies.
Movies like The Santa Claus, The Grinch, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and
Frosty the Snowman are all great examples of holiday movies that gets
you excited upcoming season.
To get some insight about holiday movies I surveyed ten
people about them. The questions went as followed:
“Do you plan on seeing a movie over holiday
break?”
Seven people said
that they plan on seeing a movie, and three said no.
“What movie are
you planning to see or what they would like to see?”
Three people said Mockingjay, two said Into the Woods one plans to watch Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, one said
The Penguins of Madagascar, one plans
to continue their goal on watching all the movies on Netflix, and two were
inconclusive.
“Do you enjoy
holiday movies?”
All agreed with a “yes!”
“Do you prefer
cartoon or live-action holiday movies?”
Three said cartoon, two said live-action, and five said
both.
“Do you and your
family enjoy watching holiday movies together?”
Six said yes, three said it depends on the movie, and one
said no.
“Do you prefer
classic or new holiday movies?”
Eight said classic, one said both, and one said it
depends.
“Do you watch
holiday movies year-round?”
Eight said yes, one said no, and one said it depends on
how much it is about the holidays.
“What is your
favorite type of movie to mix with holiday movies?"
Some people just couldn’t choose one answer, seven said
Disney, four said the Classics, three said Fairytale, two said comedy, and one
said action.
“Do you think
holiday movies will be as popular in the future?”
Seven said yes, two said no, and one said it depends on
the quality of the movies.
I also interviewed three people about holiday movies...
First I interviewed Elizabeth Surrette. The first thing I asked her was what does she like about holiday movies, her response: "I like the characters, like Frosty and Rudolph. They really make the holidays enjoyable." Next I asked her what her favorite holiday movie was, her response: "The Polar Express because it was my favorite growing up, and I have a lot of good memories from watching it!" Lastly I asked her if holiday movies put her in the spirit of the holidays, her response: "Yeah, because it makes me feel jolly, like you're supposed to around the holidays". Elizabeth clearly loves the holidays and can't wait until they officially come.
Next I interviewed Emily Simmons. First I asked her what she liked about holiday movies, she answered: "They get you in the spirit for the upcoming holidays and they are entertaining." After that I asked her what her favorite holiday movie was, she answered: "A Charlie Brown Christmas because it is funny and I love the characters." Finally I asked her if holiday movies put her in the spirit of the holidays, she answered: "Yup, they are exciting and just get you ready for the holidays." Emily is ready to celebrate the holidays with Snoopy and Woodstock!
Last I interviewed Sean Nesbit. First I asked him what it was about holiday movies that he liked, he answered: "They're traditional to watch and they are fun." After that asked him what his favorite holiday movie was, he answered:"The Grinch because Jim Carrey is awesome!" Finally I asked him if holiday movies put him in the spirit of the holidays, he answered: "No because they are just one of many things I do during the holidays to get me spirited." Sean is excited about the holidays and especially excited to watch Jim Carrey in The Grinch.
With the holidays coming in fast recommend you find some movies to watch. I recommend The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Grinch, Christmas With the Cranks, and last but not least Unaccompanied Minors.
