DJ De'Aundré's Top 4
Aaliyah Tribute Edition
1. "Try Again" Aaliyah ft. Timbaland
This song is my favorite song by Aaliyah because it talks about how you shouldn't give up on a goal you have set. Even though it seems out of reach, it can still be achieved. Just look at some of these celebrities who came from barely anything and conquered so many things. Like the girl group TLC, if you have seen the TLC movie Crazysexycool you would've seen their life story. How T-boz had over come sickle cell and how Chili dealt with her abortion and her second pregnancy and also how the late and great Left- Eye dealt with her father's death. They all used music to tell their stories and to also lead the way for women who were going through the same things. That is what Aaliyah was trying to say in this song.
2. "4 Page Letter" by Aaliyah
This is the first song I ever heard by Aaliyah, and I fell in love with the song and her at the same time. This song is mainly about her showing the person that she loves how she feels by writing him a four page love letter. I think a person would have to be in real love in order to write him/her a four page love letter. Also to put every single thing you love about that person in the letter shows that you would go to the edge for that person.
3. "More Than A Woman" by Aaliyah
This song is mainly saying she will be more than just a woman to he man so that he wouldn't leave her for an other woman. I fell that a relationship is two sided and that there is no longer a you and me there is only an us and once you make that commitment you should treat me like I am a king and I'll treat you like you are the queen.
4. "Got To Give It Up" by Aaliyah
This is an amazing song because it shows that even the shyest people can learn to get loose. I've learned how to not take myself too seriously and to just have fun once in a while. I feel if we had like a little break in school to just have fun with our friends, our grades would be better than what they are now.
Aaliyah was the most talented entertainer, and if she was alive today, she would be tearing up the charts and have such a larger fun base world wide. If only she hadn't gotten on that plane ,we would still have the best entertainer her with us telling the story of her life journey through her music. #OneLove #R.I.PThePrincessOfR&B
