Holiday Music

The time has come, the time for holiday cheer.

Emily Simmons
Everyone has a favorite holiday song that gets you in the mood for the holiday seasons. Holiday music is the main reason the holidays are so big. The music gets everyone in the spirit and gets them in a good cheer. It starts playing around the holiday and by the time the holiday actually comes around, everyone is ready. It’s a little annoying but it’s always needed. A big part of the songs of the holidays is being covered. When your favorite band or artist covers a holiday day, you get more excited. In some ways, you like the covers more because you know the voice and it feels you feel better about the holidays because your favorite band or artist sung it. Holiday music has been a tradition around the world since music was created. The music will never leave us and that’s a good thing. We need this music to get us through the hard times of the holidays. When you hear the first notes, it brings make memories and makes you want to create new ones.

Elizabeth Surrette
I interviewed three students, I asked them the same three questions:
"What is your favorite cover of a holiday song?"
Elizabeth Surrette and Sean Nesbit said Last Christmas- Taylor Swift, Emily Simmons said All I want for Christmas is you- Mariah Carey.
"How does holiday music make you feel?"
Elizabeth said like a kid, Sean said cold and Emily said absolutely nothing.
"What do you like about holiday music?"
They all said the characters of the song.
I got a chance to talk to some kids at Eastern Guilford High about holiday music.  I asked 10 people 10 survey questions:
