Musicians in EGHS

Josh Acosta and De 'Sean Lott

De'Aundré's Guitar

Music is a big part of the world. It's a great way to express yourself and how you feel. Many teenagers use music as an escape. Not only do they listen to it, they always play it. Many teens play instruments or sing. Music is an escape of the stressful days. If they can play a cord or sing a note, it can make them feel better and more free. It's a way to their heart and soul. Every note and tone is another door that leads into a place where they aren't hurt, they aren't alone. Teenagers found a way to express their feelings and a way to let out their emotions. To many people it is just music, but for teenagers, the music understands them. The artist are more than just someone who makes a good song, that person could be the one to save their life. Music is everything to teenager.

Music has always been a big apart of teenagers life's. Not only do teenagers listen to it, they also play it. Many students at Eastern Guilford have musical talent. I went around the school and interviewed three boys. I asked them three questions.
I asked them why did they start playing guitar, De'Aundré Barnes said "because I have been in love with music since I was a kid",
Josh Acosta said "'cause pop punk" meaning he loves the music. De 'Sean Lott answered the question, "because good vibes."

De'Aundré Barnes
I asked the boys who inspired them to start playing, De'Aundré said "Aaliyah, the first time I heard her music, I've wanted to play", Josh said "my friend" and
 De 'Sean said "George Lynch".
The last question I asked was "Does it affect your mood? Does it calm you down?" The boys answered all the same, it calms them down.

I asked the three musicians 3 survey questions.
"Would you rather acoustic or electric guitar?" 2 out of the 3 boys said it depends. The other boy said acoustic.
"Would you rather play alone or with a group/another person" All the boys said with a group.
"Would you rather write your own music or cover someone else's?" 2 out of 3 said cover, the other boy said his own music.
"Would you want this as a career?" 1 of the boys said as a side career, another boy said as a side career but he wants to be a producer when not on tour. The last boy said yes, he wants it as a career.

Music means a lot to these boys. This shows how much music can affect someone's mood.
