Homecoming Weekend

Did you go to the homecoming dance?

For everyone who did, they walked into the Diamond Room at 8:00 and while the music was playing. The DJ played popular songs that everyone danced to.
Everyone grabbed their dates to slow dance to "All of Me" by John Legend. The rest of the songs were upbeat, happy songs. It was one night that everyone enjoyed surrounded by friends and class mates; the room was filled with the hottest hits and lots of smiles. No drama, no fights, just a night of fun.

The night ended at midnight but no one was disappointed. The last songs they played were fun catchy dance songs, and everyone who knew the dances gathered on the dance floor and danced like no one was watching. The lights came on and it was over. Another homecoming came and gone.

Last Sunday, on a beautiful afternoon, the streets of Gibsonville were transformed when students, teachers, and alumni took over the center of town and brought Wildcat Pride to our upcoming week. The annual Eastern Guilford High Homecoming Parade took place on September 28, 2014 in the town of Gibsonville. Crowds gathered to watch Eastern Guilford’s very own students put on a show as they showcased their pride for the upcoming Homecoming game on Friday October 3rd. Some of the groups that were in the parade included the Women’s Tennis Team, the Fresh Freshman, the Band, the Football Team, the Chorus, and the Cheerleaders.

After the parade a pep-rally was held in the center of town. The pep-rally started with the cheerleaders cheering while the band played Happy by Pharrell Williams. Next, a few announcements were made, then the chorus sang a few songs, one entitled, Do Lord, and the other was Eastern Guilford’s Alma Mater. After the chorus performed, the band played the Fight Song and the cheerleaders wrapped up the pep-rally.

Throughout this weekend, many events brought the Wildcats together for the upcoming Homecoming Game. Everyone brought the Wildcat spirit and shared it throughout Guilford County. Homecoming came to a close, no one was disappointed with the outcome. It started with spirit week and ended with the football players cheering at their victory.
