The Oblivious Infinity: The Fault in Our Stars Review

Imagine if you had cancer, would you want to fall in love knowing you could be gone any moment? Hazel has lung cancer, causing her to “suck” at breathing and needing a machine to help her do so. She spends most of her time at doctor appointments, watching reality TV shows, and reading her favorite book over and over again. She starts a Cancer Support Group, because she is “depressed.” Hazel quickly makes friends with Isaac at Support Group through sighs of boredom. One day at Support Group, Hazel bumps into Augustus Waters, a boy who’s in remission and lost his leg in his fight against cancer. Hazel and Augustus, better known as Gus, quickly become friends, and connect through Hazel’s favorite book, An Imperial Affliction, and fall in love.

The Fault in Our Stars is ultimately a story of love. It shows the hardships of life and falling in love, knowing it won’t last. “Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.” This is one of the many beautiful quotes from The Fault in Our Stars, showing that not everything can last forever. The Fault in Our Stars also has an incredible soundtrack, with songs from artist such as Charlie XCX, Kodaline, and Birdy. These songs play throughout the movie to show emotion. The Fault in Our Stars is a book by John Green, and in my opinion this movie captures the essence of the book in every way possible.

All of the 126 minutes of The Fault in Our Stars will have your full attention; this movie deserves a Wildcat roar for a five out of five stars. The movie will have you laughing, crying, and expressing every other emotion in the book. The Fault in Our Stars made $48.2 million on opening weekend, which is no surprise because this is an outstanding movie, which will have you on your knees crying by the end. Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort do an amazing job and really fit into their roles. This movie was released on DVD September 16, so get it while it's hot! I highly recommend that you see this movie as soon as possible because it is beautiful in every single way.
