Battle of the Eastern's

9/5/14: The Wildcats were just too much for Eastern Randolph's boys in Friday night's game!

The offensive line was on point and the Wildcats defense wasn't too far behind, only allowing Eastern Randolph to score 6 points in the whole game. Two touchdowns were scored by the Wildcats star QB Jarius Morehead, and an two point conversion by sophomore James Artis started the Wildcats off to a 16-0 first quarter.

Then the Wildcats went on a complete tear with another touchdown with 2:16 left in the first half putting the wildcats up 23-0. Right before the half ended, Eastern Randolph sneaked in the end zone, but could not capitalize on the 2-point conversion.

To start off the second half, Terrell Pickett and Zion Walker gained major yardage on the ground, eventually putting Khayree  Lundy in the end zone for a 30-6 lead with 9:42 in the third. Then as the Wildcats marched down the field again, sophomore wide out Bryant Barr scored a touchdown with 6:10 in the third putting Eastern Guilford up 37-6.

What really stood out in the second half was the Wildcats defense. They were not taking any mess that night while holding the line and with 2 major forced turnovers ; first a pick by Eastern Guilford's senior corner Terrell Pickett and a fumble recovery by senior outside linebacker Zeondre Johnson, which both put EG in good field position , but they were not able to convert off of the turnovers going on a little dry spell, but the Wildcats would eventually rekindle the fire and make it up on the defensive end. Eastern Randolph tried for a couple of miracles but were unsuccessful, and with 34.5 seconds left in the game the Eastern Guilford Wildcats force yet another turnover on downs to get a huge win over Eastern Randolph. GO WILDCATS!
