This is the End

After 20 years, one of the biggest bands in music history is breaking up. Pink Floyd finally says goodbye.
David Gilmour, singer-guitarist, says that the band became bigger than he liked. According to Rolling Stone.com, "the singer-guitarist focused his energy on raising his young children and making the occasional solo album". Gilmour told Rolling Stone that the new album The Endless River, the end of Pink Floyd.

In 2008, the keyboardist, Rick Wright, died of cancer. the band said there will be no tour for the new album without him, they said it wouldn't be the same. In many ways, according to Pink Floyd, The Endless River is a tribute to Wright.
"Without any vocals, his organ comes to the foreground of nearly every track" Rolling Stone said. Pink Floyd fans can look forward to a solo album from Gilmour, he plans on having it finished the following year.

Nick Manson, drummer, refuses to give up on the band and refuses to give up hope that Gilmour will
change his mind about the band.
He told Rolling Stone "I believe when I'm dead and buried my tombstone will read: I'm not entirely sure the band's over".
