Nicki Minaj has recently released a lyric video for her song "Only." Many feels as though the video resembles Nazi imagery. The video features an army of soldiers with red arm bands featuring a logo. The logo is "YM" which stands for Young Money which is the name of her record label. Many people feel as though the logo is close in comparison to the Swastika symbol. Nicki didn't hears about this until she landed back in the USA from performing at the EMA's(European Music Awards). Nicki Minaj has apologized to those who were offended, she tweeted "I take full responsibility if it has offended anyone. Id never Condone Nazism in my art. On the other hand her director, the man who cam up with the idea, of the video, Jeffery Osborne, who comes from Jewish decent feels the exact opposite. Jeffery told MySpace, "First, I'm not apologizing for my work, nor will I dodge the immediate question. The flags, arm bands, and gas masks(and perhaps my use of symmetry?) are all representative of Nazism." Jeffery also said, "As far as an explanation, I think its actually important to remind younger generations of atrocities that occurred in the past as a way to prevent them from happening in the future, And the most effective way of connecting with people today is through social media and pop culture. Fun Fact: Many people may not know this but the original meaning of the swastika is "lucky or well being." The Symbol is still used as a religious symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism.
