Books of the Future

The holiday’s are finally over and most of us have received holiday money or gift cards, now the problem is, what should you spend that money on? Well instead of buying something that might only last for a little while, why not buy something that not only will last a lot longer, but will satisfy your hunger for entertainment in a healthy manner. I personally love to read books, not everyone does, but there is one thing everyone just can’t get enough of…dystopian books. This term might not seem familiar, but it’s something that everyone’s heard of. Dystopian books are futuristic books that usually foreshadow an awful life for someone or everyone. A few examples of these books would include The Hunger Games Series, The Giver, The Maze Runner, The Divergent Series, The Handmaid’s Tale, Matched, and many more, but because the most popular of all are the ones listed in the table below, I decided to compare and contrast them.

What I found to be interesting is that dystopian books draw you in because you don’t know what to expect, for the reason that it takes place in the future. We as readers are drawn in to dystopian books because the setting takes place afar of in the future, which makes us wonder how others imagine the future as. This is definitely a deal breaker with me along with the fact that the three books above are cheap, and can be bought almost anywhere. Especially if you don’t want to spend all of that money on the book/s, there are always places like amazon where you can get them up to three dollars total for one book. Lastly the best part about these books is that not only do you get to read the books, but you can also watch the movie. From than on you can compare and contrast the book and movie; although the books give you more insight into what the characters are thinking and feeling as well as not missing any deleted scenes like it is sometimes done in movies.
As we all know there can only be one to surpass the rest when it comes to which one is the most preferable. Mine, personally, is The Hunger Games because you get full details and insight into what is going on in the book; you immediately get drawn in. What is also very intriguing about this book is that you don't know what to expect, compared to other books where you know what's going to happen. This book would probably have to be one of my favorites because of the reason that it doesn't exclude anything from the reader and transitions smoothly from one scene to the next. Although their is a movie, I would highly recommend that you read book first because you get a clearer view of the book's plot and you're able to see how it was all able to unfold.
