Interesting and Uninteresting
We pass a various number of people each day. We look in curiosity at most and ignore others. What I mean by that is, only half the people we encounter. We recognize. Whether that be in a good or bad way.. We still recognize them. So we take interest in this half of people. What they do, what they like(etc.) While we ignore the voice that is waiting to scream out in agony. That would the other half of our encounters. These are the oddballs, the outcast, the ones who are uninterestingly differently from the ones who are apparently the interesting. We pass them and take a glance and sometimes not even that. However we walk towards something more interesting with every encounter with someone uninteresting. We never become curious with who they are as a person. However when it comes to someone who has nice hair and costly clothes. Attention and interest is focused on them. We may think because they have this and that. That they are the best kinds of people to be friends with. When in most cases, they are the worst. Now I'm not saying all cases, but the majority of these people get to much attention. Then let it blow up there head. To a point where they feel better than the rest. the rest being the other half who are considered un interesting. They become the kids who are bullied by the so called interesting. So therefore creates somewhat of a cycle. the uninteresting are so used to being treated like this, when ever they pass by various people
Ebola In The U.S
We have all heard of the Ebola outbreak that's been happening for the past few months in Africa. This deadly disease has been the main cause of deaths among their people, the reason being that it is contracted easily and affects the body fairly quickly. What makes this disease especially unique is that there is no vaccine to cure it; for the moment only certain vaccines are being tested, but has been effective on only one person. Yet the main question being asked right now is how Ebola got to the U.S and how it will be treated so that it won't spread.
For the moment what is known is that a man, Thomas Eric Duncan, traveled to Africa and came back already infected with the virus. Ebola doesn't start to show symptoms until after a few days that it's been contracted and it can't be passed on until symptoms begin to show. Yet what's surprising about this case is that Thomas Eric Duncan did go to the hospital when symptoms begin to show, but he was only sent back home with antibiotics. He didn't automatically think he had Ebola, but so did the hospital.
It wasn't until he returned in an ambulance that they knew he had Ebola. What America is worried about now is Ebola spreading , but according to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), it's unlikely to. They said he only had contact with three to four people and they are being monitored. Dr. Freidan of the CDC said "I have no doubt we will control this case of Ebola so it does not spread widely." What's truly devastating is that the Ebola patient, Thomas Eric Duncan, died Wednesday Morning of October 8,2014. Nothing could be done to save the patient; right now what medics are try but could he have left behind traces of this deadly disease

Popularity Contest
We've all seen that typical cliché movie and read that book where the lunch room is split by popularity levels. We see one table with the jocks, Athletes and the other table with cheerleaders and preppy people, the smart, or nerdy people. The emo, gothic people all sit at different tables; It's sad that it has to be like this. It seems like everything now in high school is one big contest, everything from homecoming court to prom king and queen is about who's popular , either way people will feel and be left out.
"Mean girls" one of my favorite movies and is a perfect example of pettiness and childishness in high school. For example, gossip and bullying isn't just a girl thing, because guys do it too. Either way, it is hurtful and destroys people's lives physically and emotionally. A perfect high school, in my opinion would be where teachers taught the right way, students learned the right way and everyone had fun and got along. Maybe if high school weren't just one big popularity contest, high school would be great for everyone.
Let's challenge ourselves to be accepting of one another!

EGHS Homecoming Week (Pep Rally)
The festivities for Eastern Guilford High Schools homecoming started on last Monday; the beginning of spirit week with a theme of white out for freshmen , sophomores, juniors and black out for the seniors . Tuesday consisted of lots of twins walking around the school. Wednesday was a "wacky" day in Wildcat country as you saw lots of creative sides come out. Lots of different colors and styles. On Thursday, everyone took a blast to the past and participated in Throwback Thursday. This day was also a day of preparation for the wildcats as they capped off a hard week of practice with a huge pep rally consisting of lots of controllably rambunctious students reppin' their graduating class. This was a confidence booster for the wildcats as Friday night they took on the Morehead Panthers and successfully obliterated them with a 37-0 shutout victory to make those Wildcats 5-1. The consistency of The L.O.B defense and the tenacity of the Wildcats offensive line and the determination of Jarius Morehead, Yrral Davis, Zion Walker , and Terrell Pickett to put the ball in the end zone was just icing on the cake. We also found out who our new King and Queen were Tatianna Duviella and Ryan Williams being crowned just made the whole Wildcat homecoming a success.
DJ De'Aundre's Top 5 for 10.10.14
DJ De'Aundré Top 5
1."Selfish" by Asia Cruise
2."One Last Time" by Ariana Grande
3." I Wish You Loved Me" by Tynisha Keli
4. "Marry Me" by Jason Derulo
I love this song and this artist not just because he dated Jordin Sparks but because he has that pretty boy swagger that kind of makes you want to listen to him. You know when you're on YouTube and you see a pretty girl or a handsome boy and when you click on the video it turns out they can sing and you start to love them even more p.s. that's how I find new artists anyway. Also this is why he has such a huge female fan base he's attractive and he can sing and dance and that's what makes the women love him. This song should be played when you are about to propose to that special someone and you just can't find the words to say it yourself. It should also be played because it sums up how you should feel about that person and it shows them that they really mean it when they say I love you and when they ask you to marry you they truly and utterly want to grow old with you.
5."Sweet Dreams" by Beyonce
This is the best Beyonce song since "Deja Vu", from the dance moves to the rifts that she never holds back on a song she records and performs. Have you noticed the way she performs a song on a music video, she puts that same amount of energy in her live performances and that's one thing I love a bout Beyonce. This song is mostly about being in a relationship that can either be a sweet dream where everything can go perfectly and you have no problems (a boring relationship in my opinion) or it could be a beautiful nightmare where everything could be spiraling out of control and you don't want to leave them because you love them so much.
Homecoming Weekend
Did you go to the homecoming dance?
For everyone who did, they walked into the Diamond Room at 8:00 and while the music was playing. The DJ played popular songs that everyone danced to.
Everyone grabbed their dates to slow dance to "All of Me" by John Legend. The rest of the songs were upbeat, happy songs. It was one night that everyone enjoyed surrounded by friends and class mates; the room was filled with the hottest hits and lots of smiles. No drama, no fights, just a night of fun.
The night ended at midnight but no one was disappointed. The last songs they played were fun catchy dance songs, and everyone who knew the dances gathered on the dance floor and danced like no one was watching. The lights came on and it was over. Another homecoming came and gone.
Last Sunday, on a
beautiful afternoon, the streets of Gibsonville were transformed when students,
teachers, and alumni took over the center of town and brought Wildcat Pride to
our upcoming week. The annual Eastern Guilford High Homecoming Parade took
place on September 28, 2014 in the town of Gibsonville. Crowds gathered to
watch Eastern Guilford’s very own students put on a show as they showcased
their pride for the upcoming Homecoming game on Friday October 3rd.
Some of the groups that were in the parade included the Women’s Tennis Team,
the Fresh Freshman, the Band, the Football Team, the Chorus, and the
Cheerleaders.
After the parade a pep-rally was held in the center of town. The pep-rally started with the cheerleaders cheering while the band played Happy by Pharrell Williams. Next, a few announcements were made, then the chorus sang a few songs, one entitled, Do Lord, and the other was Eastern Guilford’s Alma Mater. After the chorus performed, the band played the Fight Song and the cheerleaders wrapped up the pep-rally.
Throughout this weekend, many events brought the Wildcats together for the upcoming Homecoming Game. Everyone brought the Wildcat spirit and shared it throughout Guilford County. Homecoming came to a close, no one was disappointed with the outcome. It started with spirit week and ended with the football players cheering at their victory.
